We’re evolving! Podcast coming soon!

We’re back!

Its been a hot minute (and a snowcrete minute) since the Garden of Owls blog has seen some action. I had hopes a few years ago, as Climate Change finally entered the conversation. While it was only barely half mentioned in a townhall question for the 2016 election, it finally made it into regular rotation in the NYT and WaPO, even getting its own section.

Much as evolved, and yet much stays the same.

Worse, some things are going backwards. Microplastics and “forever chemicals” are talked about more regularly, with a focus on the impact on human health. Temperatures have hit records, “weather weirdness” is a phrased used to try to avoid the reaction to the words “climate change”. Other countries have stopped taking our recycling, and its become more clear the connection campaigns around recycling have to the plastic industry. Its okay, use plastic, we can recycle it!

We’ve seen the rise and fall of commitments to the evolution from gas-powered cars to Electric Vehicles (EVs), with the power of politics at hand.

But what continues to be true is how important engaging, interacting and simply being in nature is to human health. and vice versa.

And so we are evolving to the podcast format. Because I know interesting people, and I want to share what small businesses and non-profits are doing to support human connection to nature.

And so I hope you’ll follow along on this new path.

What is the Garden of Owls podcast about?

The Garden of Owls is a podcast about our relationship with nature — intimate conversations with artists, healers, naturalists, and thoughtful humans exploring what it means to live in deeper connection with the natural world. Through storytelling and reflection, we move from awareness to action — cultivating reverence, responsibility, and renewal.
